2009 Sense of Time Table
A table that responds to the cycles of the sun to create a connection between outside lighting conditions and interior workspace. Sense of time table – like a sun dial a light source moves around the perimeter of the table in keeping with the angle of the sun in the sky outside. Shadows cause by the “solar effect” create a subliminal sense of natural time.
Based on research and Philips Healthcare insights into well bieng environments the product concept is designed to channel nature into a room through use of shadow.A subliminal sense of time is communicated by the movement, intensity and length of shadow left by the objects on the table during the course of the day
